The food was delicious, particularly the ravioli and seafood starters. On the mains, the lamb and salmon were really good too. Was a little bit let down by dessert but not enough to not want to try the restaurant again. Would definitely be back
Convenient location, lovely restaurant, bar and deli filled with beautiful treats. The staff were all attentive and the food tasted as good as it looked.
Went for the restaurant week dinner over a weekend - R345 for a three course meal. Amazing value at the price. The Jerk Goat however, was not very Jerk-like, and the reason I wanted to go... Otherwise looking forward to my next meal there.
What a great experience it was at this unique style restaurant. We had a brilliant evening with good service and great food.
Hi Marlene,
Thank you for the full marks review. We look forward to hosting you again.
Without Restaurant Week we would never have found this little pearl! A wonderful dining experience with great food, a 3 course menu with beautiful made up plates and an extraordinary staff! Absolutely recommended.
Hi Paul,

Pilcrow & Cleaver is the delicious brainchild of Chef Judi Fourie; a Cape Town restaurant fierce with bold modern flavours.
With no service staff, and no doors, windows or walls to our professional kitchen, Pilcrow & Cleaver puts you in direct contact with the chefs and cooks that make your food. We invite you to smell and anticipate modern European daily inspired menus of small plates, mains and desserts. Swirl a glass of proudly South African wine over dinner or unwind after work at our separate bar section. Browse our retail shelf’s homemade delicacies and contemplate a recipe in our bespoke cookbook collection. Or talk to us as we prepare homemade flavours right in front of you. We are pet-friendly, follow the no-tipping movement, the first restaurant in Cape Town to serve Father Coffee and during the COVID-19 lockdown we are still open for business.
Hi, I'm Chef Judi
And welcome to Pilcrow & Cleaver, a new paragraph with a different twist, something that I have dreamt about and cooked into realisation for the last 15 years.
The passion for food started to pulsate through my veins from a very young age and for the last decade I have been on a culinary journey of exploration around the world. My travels have inspired me to find new dishes, experience unique flavours and taste different food to bring it all together and share it with you from my kitchen at Pilcrow & Cleaver, right here, in the vibrant heart of Cape Town.
Food is an experiment-experience that evokes emotion. It is not perfection, it’s about expression. Cooking is an art, and the kitchen is my canvas and I want you to join me as a create dishes with a modern flair; highlighting the different unique flavours of each and every ingredient.
Let’s eat.
