I had sushi for mains and that was lovely. The deep-fried ginger ice-cream would have done well by just being standalone homemade ginger + biscuit ice-cream, one could taste the oil from the deep-fried layer which was very off-putting.
The wine selection was not great. They could benefit from having a professional come and help with pairings.
Overall- good experience and worth giving a shot.
Surprisingly wonderful! Amazing cocktails, good food, great service
We arrived a bit early so decided to try one of their cocktails first which were very nice.
Food was okay, The nori used for the starter tasted stale although the filling itself was nice.
Main meals were good although my medium Thai Teppanyaki Noodles was too hot for me which was a shame as it was very flavourful...

Although the venue itself is not great, the waitresses were friendly and efficient.

About Epsom Thai Restaurant
Cuisine: Asian
Epsom Thai, the brainchild of owner Mamane Moeketsane, is the latest Thai fusion restaurant to open in Joburg. Taking the brave move to open last December, Mamane and head chef Bongane Tshabalala have created a rather diverse offering in their extensive menu.
When it comes to flavor nothing compares to an Asian dish and South East Asia offers what we deem "The Perfect Balance" of flavors.
