"Beautiful dining experience "

The place is just absolutely beautiful. The restaurant was not packed. The food was delicious and the staff was very friendly and helpful.

They knew the menu and were able to explain the food and make recommendations based on their own experiences.

Food was on point, cannot fault any meals that we tasted.

Waiter in the restaurant was good but the service at the bar area, before seating in the restaurant was poor as we had to wait for over 20 minutes for a drink. It was not the barman's fault but lack of staff present to assist the barman which management.

Waiter in the restaurant was good but the service at the bar area, before seating in the restaurant was poor as we had to wait for over 20 minutes for a drink. It was not the barman's fault but lack of staff present to assist the barman which management.

We also had to walk into the restaurant to confirm if the restaurant was open, there was no one at reception confirming our booking and directing us to our table.

Based on the above, the experience was fair but not one we would want to attend to again.

I loved how easy & hassle free the booking process was. We were surprised to enter at 7pm to find the restaurant almost completely empty. The staff were huddled at the cash register & no one came forward to greet us until we walked towards them. We were seated, & our server was Max who was really great, very friendly & warm. Our starters were the mussels & gnocchi which were really good. For mains we had the lamb- fantastic, roast chicken- also good, duck breast- could be improved, tiny portion, definitely wldnt b enough for a man, I didn't enjoy this dish, & the serving was about half of a duck breast. Now 4 the dessert, we asked if we cld get one of ours to go. When I got the bill we were charged the R425per head, & then an extra R85 for the dessert. I wld've understood if this wasn't allowed & this was communicated to me. I did not want to cause a scene & paid the full bill, I do feel this was a rip off, especially as we didnt even include the ice cream

Cuisine

The food was AMAZING. Every single element of every meal was perfectly prepared and seasoned. All the dishes had a great balance of flavours and the portions were very generous.

Ambience

The restaurant is open and airy with high ceilings and modern decor. Wall to wall, ceiling to floor glass windows offer a great view of the city and we were lucky enough to catch the sunset just after we arrived. As it was a Saturday, the restaurant was quiet but this did not take away from the ambience. The large high back chairs make you feel as if you are in a private booth and were very comfortable.

Overall
Central One is a place I would definitely eat again and recommend to anyone looking for a great meal.

PS. All parking for the hotel is off street and is metered. Cards are not accepted but an ATM is available. The hotel/restaurant does not offer complimentary parking for patrons of the restaurant.

"Lovely Restaurant"

We truly enjoyed our dinner, we find it hard to pick which course was the best as all three were very well presented & Oh so tasty! Would definitely recommend Central One to anyone looking for great food with a fantastic venue... Thank you!
