The first complaint was that there was a smell of a dead rat in the general area of the table. The drinks waiter took at least 15 minutes to arrive, and thereafter showed up only occasionally. The black metal plates we were given to eat off were not clean. The salad selection was minimal, and there was whipped cream presumably for potatoes which never arrived. We were shown various sauces, including one for “crocodile”, which also never arrived. On questioning, a waiter said this was “out of stock”. The selection of meats, given that this is supposed to be this restaurant’s forte, was rather limited, and most were well overcooked, with the exception of the chicken, which was presented “rare” to some of the diners.
The very limited dessert menu disappointed as well, with cheesecake being “out of stock”.
To top off a disappointing meal, 6 of the 12 diners have developed diarrhoea and cramping overnight.
In his reply to my complaint the manager Kurt Quadflieg completely failed to address the food poisoning issue, and glossed over our other complaints. All in all, the restaurant has a shoody and neglected atmosphere, and I would strongly discourage anyone to go there.

Definitely one place to take your overseas guests (they can also pose next to likenesses of the great kings and leaders of southern Africa), and not exceedingly expensive for the specialty meal you get here.
