Myself and my friends enjoyed a gorgeous lunch at Haute Cabriere on Saturday. We started off with a wine tasting in the tasting room next door. The wines are all amazing and reasonably priced. The restaurant also has the same wines at cellar door prices.
The food in the restaurant was stunning, we had the venison which was cooked perfectly and so tender. Great service. The only thing I would say is the restaurant inside is very dark and you cannot see the amazing views of outside and unfortunately it was way too windy to sit outside.
Our party of guests thoroughly enjoyed all aspects of our "marriage of food and wine' experience from the most professional waitron Anele, copious, exceptional wine and beautifully presented, tasty courses. Every course was well thought out and they complemented each other.
Cleverly all these courses are available on their menu so we will be returning most certainly.

The Marriage of Food & Wine tasting menu offered a number of delightful little surprises. We were blessed to enjoy lunch on the Terrace in warm sunshine with a beautiful view of the Franschoek mountains and valley.

The combination of food and wine was really excellent! Especially the tartare and the chilly prawns were outstanding.
The only minus was the koeksisters, tomatojam and fried mozarella, the first dish we had with the brut. The brut was excellent as usual, but we advise to replace this dish. We also gave this feed-back to the waiter.
Also we advise to paint the interior walls and ceiling in a light cream colour, as the concrete looks a bit gloomy and depressing.
