The Hohenhort hotel is one of Cape Town's secret gems. We've been celebrating our special occasions in this garden of serenity for years.

The next best thing was the service by real people who clearly took interest in our experience of their restaurant.
Every bite of the food provided enjoyment with a surprise flavour lurking just beneath the fork.

The desserts were fantastic, the lavender ice cream and rooibos mousse complemented each other so well without either of them overpowering the other.
The apple stayed hot for as long as it took us to eat it, which was great, and was also fantastic taste wise..
A glass of bubbles accompanied our meal, making the lunch experience wonderful.
Our only gripe was that we were in a bit of a rush and were constantly checking our watches so everything seemed to take that extra minute or so too long...but that was our fault mainly!
We raved about our lunch back at work to everyone we came in contact with for the next day or so! And will definitely be back for a more leisurely lunch next time!
We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner at the Conservatory, and look forward to going back during daylight to better appreciate the magnificent grounds and views.

Service was first-class, and all our waiters were very friendly. Nothing was too much trouble, and while our waiters were attentive, they were not over-bearing. For example, There was a small mes-up with our drinks (more our fault than theirs), yet it was swiftly dealt with at no inconvenience or cost to ourselves.
The food was fantastic, and it was clear that the fresh ingredients they claim to use, were there in abundance. My husband and I ordered opposite dishes in order to sample as much as possible. The cheese souffle was a stand-out starter, and I could have easily eaten it as a main. Of the main, both were excellent, but the interesting flavours of the line fish (tuna) were delicious and memorable.
My husband opted not to have dessert, however I had the rooibos mousse with orange and lavender ice-cream. The ice-cream completely stole the show.
The service alone would guarantee we'd go back, but the food was also excellent. Being a 5-star establishment, it is not the cheapest meal, but worth it for special occasions.
The food was absolutely incredible, everything was delicious! Janet, our server, was lovely and professional! The entire experience at the Conservatory was amazing. Thank you!
Wow, what a great time we had at the Conservatory, great service and all 3 courses was beautifully prepared and presented on the plate. My favourite dish was the starter #double-baked-underberg-cheese-souffle and the a lovely intimate atmosphere added to a splendid evening out.
