As an elderly person I found the place very noisy. But that is not negative, lots of young people , which is very good. I enjoyed the experience. The food was good , pork neck got cold very quickly.
Lovely taste of Spain, excellent service, we were looking forward to trying out La Parada and we were not disappointed. Highly recommended.

About La Parada (Bree Street)
Cuisine: Spanish / Tapas
La Parada (Bree Street)
La Parada Tapas Bar in Bree Street – Cape Town’s hottest food strip – is a tribute to the Spanish bars that bewitched Hemmingway. La Parada with its chef Martin Senekal offers the best, most authentic tapas in town.
The interior is impressive, boasting ornate pressed ceilings, an eclectic mix of chairs and lampshades and a golden bull’s head for good measure. The restaurant specializes in authentic tapas, a favourite amongst the Capetonian foodies, incorporating an authentic Spanish flair. With many patrons popping in for afternoon drinks and a light bite, rather than a sit down dinner – which is after all the origin of tapas – the drinks list encourages as much experimentation as the menu.
The gypsy-chic decor, vibrant atmosphere and excellent tapas make this a fine spot for a quick lunch, after work relaxing, casual get together with friends, late-night carousing or a work get-together. In Constantia Nek, with the views and ambience, it’s the ideal meeting place for Sunday breakfasts and long lunches.
