The food was great. The wine was good.
I do however feel that you get treated like a 2nd class citizen for making the booking via restaurant week. We didn't get to pick a table and was shoved into a corner despite there being ample seating everywhere. I fell this is pretty ironic seeing as we spent R400 / head!

Service was great from all waitrons. Everyone was very friendly and helpful and there when they were needed, but did not hover around the table, which can become quite frustrating some times. The ambiance of the restaurant itself could do with a bit of sprucing up. Although clean and well maintained, it appears somewhat old and outdated.
The food, service and ambience was impeccable we haven't been to Simon's before but will definitely go again soon.
Had dinner at Simon's last night. Groot Constantia is a beautiful farm, and it is always a pleasure and privilege to be out there. Simon's was a bit of a disappointment. The service was ok...friendly but very unprofessional.

To start with, I had the Caprese Salad. I usually love the simplicity and freshness of a Caprese salad, however this ons was not good. They used a mixture of cut and small/rosa type tomatoes...looks like they ran out of stock. Cheese did not taste like fresh mozzarella.
For mains I had the pork belly. Again a disappointment. The pork belly on it's own was nice, but it was served on a mountain of mash and green beans that were quite unappetizing. The pork belly itself did not have any cracking, but on top of the dish was a piece of dried crackling similar to what you would buy in a supermarket.
My desert of Chocolate Mousse was stale - did not eat past the 1 spoonful
We visited Simon's as part of restaurant week and could not ask for better food or service. Both our starters were out of this world. The Portuguese chicken was a bit too spicy for me, but my husband loved it and the mussels were superb. The waiter was brilliant and very accommodating. I will definitely recommend eating here.

At Simon’s we believe the quality of the meal starts with the quality of the ingredients. Fresh, seasonal and local. That’s what we believe in. Which is why we have our own kitchen garden where we grow herbs to pick fresh daily. Why we change our menu to make the most of every Cape season. Why we prefer sourcing our ingredients from producers in the Constantia valley and the Cape winelands. And why we cook every meal fresh.
