I had the corn fritters with mint yogurt for starter, the portion was generous and the mint yogurt so refreshing and delectable. The Pea Risotto main was flavoursome and very generous, the whipped feta added the perfect amount of salt to the meal which made it extra tasty and appetizing. I even sneaked in a dessert, the trio of ice cream, absolutely mouth-watering!! Peanut butter flavour was definitely a winner!! I love how comfortable you feel having the comfort of sitting under the tree with a glass of wine or dining out on the terrace. This is definitely value for money and I would visit here again and again!! Thank you Country Kitchen for a lovely afternoon.

The food was great value for money we had the trout terrine and Corn fritters as our entres. My wife and I had the pork and prawn dish whilst my daughter had the pea rissoto. Our compliments to the chef and his team . We left there feeling literally stuffed. We will definitely return and get word out to our friends to share the experience. A cocktail or iced cold beer would have rounded off the day for me as I don't do well in the heat. Of which there is plenty but makes the outdoor dining all the better.
When arriving there the staff makes you feel like a VIP. We were welcomed by the manager, shown to our table and a waiter was there immediately to take our drinks order. The ambience is excellent, a real people's place. The food is of the best quality I've sampled and the portions are massive. I ordered the Trout as a starter and it was very refreshing. For Mains I had the Prawn and Pork, with the Asian Slaw; it was succulent. The portions are massive and I could not finish my food. For the amount of money spent, it was seriously worth it.i would go there again and recommend it to anyone.
We thoroughly enjoyed our lunch yesterday sitting on the terrace with superb views. The food was delicious and with generous portion sizes.
Our only complaint is the price of the wine was very high compared to other wine estate offerings. For example the suavignon blanc was R85-00 at the cellar door but R165 in the restaurant
More restaurant weak than Restaurant Week.

My main reason for this poor review is that the restaurant week offering from The Country Kitchen is deceiving and poor value. For the R250 menu you could choose 2 courses from a selection of 3. However the same or very similar meal combinations are cheaper on the a la carte menu. I had the corn fritter starter (oily with some raw batter) and the pea risotto (bland). The risotto is listed for R150 on the alc which means the hopeless starter costs R100. Crazy.
The staff is very curtious and attentive. Unfortunately the restaurant hosts group wine tastings in the dining area making it noisy and rowdy. There are also interruptions from the tasting leader. Does not make for a relaxed country lunch experience. So sad...
