It was my anniversary on Friday so I decided to do something nice for my partner. I had called in and emailed the restaurant to request a semi private table with candles and champagne waiting for us. We arrived at butcher block on a Friday night at 7:38 ( so I was 8 mins late for my booking) When we arrived there was no music in the restaurant, so all you could hear were people talking and eating - no atmosphere at all. They also put us next to a table of 10 which was not semi private at all, there were no candles or champagne at the table when we arrived. After waiting a few minute the waiter rushed back to the table with champagne. The service was good and the food was lovely bar the off cheesecake we gagged on. We had a 3 course dinner and all courses were done very well. However we got 2 dessert, 1 Melva pudding and 1 Strawberry cheesecake, the Melva pudding was very nice while the cheesecake was off, tasted like sour milk, we informed the waiter who then said it probably just the strawberry topping making it taste like that. All and all I had a good night because of the wonderful company I had but otherwise the restaurant was a huge let down.
The restaurant is hidden with no signage. Got lost till the kitchen was closed, they had to arranged that we go to The Pier branch. The food was really nice.
The food was outstanding, as always. This time around I got to taste their blueberry decary. It was absolutely amazing not too sweet, but just right. Our waiter was friendly and was able to help us make good choices on what we ate. The place was clean and welcoming. We had a great time there with my family.
I really loved the food and service but I think the restaurant had no vibe. It’s good for a quite dinner
Awesome food, staff and atmosphere..... will most definitely be back
