Had a wonderful lunch at Coobs. The service was great and lovely sitting outside and taking in the vibe of Parkhurst.

I had always heard about COOBS being a very fancy restaurant and had always wanted to go, so when Restaurant week came up, I knew this was my chance!
I shall be honest when I say that COOBS didn't not fail to impress. Everything from to smile of the waiter to the perfectly balanced dessert was simply perfect.

COOBS definitely brings fine dining to South Africa. The Chicken liver parfait was smooth and very well balanced with the quince jelly, and beautifully cleansed by the accompanying wine. The main, which was Pork bangers and mash was utterly comforting. The fresh bangers were juicy and hearty, which was paired with the smoothest mash I have had yet, and then perfectly balanced with the paired wine. Simply excellent. And finally, the dessert: Textures of Chocolate is a tastebud sensation! The various chocolate textures cut with the tart classic raspberry was simply divine. And again. wine perfectly paired.
I would definitely return to COOBS, and I recommend it to others as a MUST!
Thank you for the wonderful experience.
We were very impressed by the meal. All four of us had different things and everything was excellent. Pricing was good for the quality of the food
The service was great , our waiter ( love more ) took very good care of us . The wine selection is astounding ! The food was good , we had the pork belly - this was slightly on the dry side . Starters were great , as was dessert .

About Coobs
Coobs
Coobs is a eclectic contemporary bistro set in the bustling fourth ave in parkhurst in a new centre, its modern architecture goes well with the look and feel presented at Coobs. Coobs sources their produce from local suppliers and organic farms to create unique modern bistro-style food. Close to 75% of ingredients come from our organic farm ‘Brightside’ in the Magaliesburg. The farm has been part of Chef James Diack’s family for more than 20 years and is now the main source for his food. “We grew up on that farm; I was a city boy in the week and a farm child on the weekend, wrecking everything in my dirt-biking path.” It is such a pleasure to know where one’s food is coming from, to be able to trace it to its roots and thats what us at Coobs care about so deeply. Everything from vegetables and herbs to pork, lamb and wild boar is free-range and organic.
