The calamari was the most tender we have ever had! The same goes for the pork belly. The jus the pork was served with was so good that we asked for more!
The only reason we have not given the restaurant full marks is because we found that the twice baked soufflé was over powered by its strong flavoured accompaniments and the caramel panna cotta had too much gelatin in it. We are however nitpicking...
We will definitely be back!!
We had lunch for the first time at Glen Carlou yesterday. What an absolute amazing experience. The food and service was absolutely great! Our waiter was very attentive. We were surprised by the size of the food portions, expecting something very small...but we ended up not having to eat dinner at home because we were still so full :)
Fine touches makes the dining experience superb. Nothing to fault. Well worth the visit.
Made a reservation for Restaurant Week on Friday, 29 April 2016. The view is spectacular. The food was absolutely stunning with a special mention for the fried baby squid starter (melt in your mouth soft) and the pork and pear main. The service was excellent. We will definitely be back!
The setting on a warm autumn day is breathtaking looking out over the vineyards. But the food and wine are even better. Each of our three courses was superb, beautifully presented with excellent service and great wines to complement each course.
