Only good things to say about our experience. Even though I changed our reservation time twice the day of, we were graciously accommodated with a late lunch. Sitting outside on the lawn made for a very casual and uninhibited environment which suited us as we had our baby along. Chef Martin even whipped up a bowl of puréed vegetables for him! The Restaurant Week set menu was inspired and we loved the roasted peach dessert - that sesame ice cream!!!
I would recommend Diemersdal for every occasion and always do. Such great food complemented by superb service.
Thanks Diemersdal!

Went for restaurant week on saturday, we were seated outside as it was a lovely day only thing is that outside they have done nothing to prevent your food from being carried away by flies.

The starter arrived and was cold, the rest of the food was ok tasted fine and presentation was good.

The waiter also informed us that the portions were smaller if you come for restaurant week.

Have been to many excellent restaurant for restaurant week but all in all this one is nothing I would rush back for.

We were fortunate enough to get a reservation for lunch at Diemerdal and believe me we were not disappointed. From the minute we walked in we were attended to, everything explained to us and the food was just amazing, especially the mussels in cream sauce, wow!!!!

Diemersdal exceeded our expectations. The plating and flavor combinations of our first course made us think of our preferred restaurant, Overture, and after experiencing the mains and the desserts, we were comfortable in placing our experience at Diemersdal within the same frame as those of the likes of Eat Out's Top 10 list. Owner Chef Martin is extraordinary and this talented young culinary master has a bright future ahead of him. We have already made our next booking.

About The Farm Eatery

Cuisine: French, Farm-to-Table

The Farm Eatery is a place where you can enjoy the flavours of the countryside and the relaxing farm ambience in an old stable, restored with care by the Louw family, where they’ve been making wine for six generations. Here locally grown and regionally sourced produce inspire Chef Martin De Kock to blend his classical French training with the flavours of Provencal France, Spain and a touch of Asia. The herbs and some of the vegetables are from the kitchen garden, the preserves and pickles home-made, and the bread freshly baked. A balance of traditional roots and tantalising countryside cuisine mixed with homely farm vibes, and edgy cooking. That’s how we roll.

Meet Martin, The Head Chef and Proprietor
Born in Pretoria, and schooled in Durbanville, Chef Martin de Kock originally had his sights set on a legal career and was accepted as a law student at Stellenbosch University. His mother encouraged his passion for great cuisine and swayed him to turn his talent for cooking into a professional career. And so, Martin went on to attend the prestigious Institute for Culinary Arts (ICA) in Stellenbosch.

Whilst studying, Chef Martin did practical stints at leading Cape restaurants, including the Green House at Cellars-Hohenhort in Constantia, and Overture in Stellenbosch. Chef Martin also worked at Jordan Restaurant under Chef George Jardine before moving to Diemersdal in 2014, where he has been Head Chef since its inception, establishing The Farm Eatery as one of the most popular culinary destinations in the Cape Town Winelands.
