Absolutely amazing from start to finish! The service was excellent; despite the restaurant being filled to capacity for Sunday lunch. The meal was flawless and exquisite - from preparation to presentation and taste. One of the best views we have ever experienced internationally and a great ambience.

Excellent food, but a very limited menu for restaurant week. Did not cater for and choice or vegetarians. Nevertheless a splendid experience

We enjoyed the ambience and stunning scenery. The amuse was tasty but not very well presented, also awkward to eat with a sundae spoon. The starter was delicious and the texture of the pasta was perfect, the truffle shavings I felt were unecessary and a bit of a waste as you didn't taste it much due to being overpowered by the beurre noisette and walnuts. The main course protein was a bit dry but the plate was well presented. Delicious chocolates to end the meal. The service and attention to detail needs a bit of work as we received two bottles of water at the table but the waiter never offered once to pour. The tea that was served to one of the guests on our table was served in a chipped cup. Small details that would make a big difference.

What a wonderful experience of fine dining in the most beautiful surroundings. The food was absolutely great and very well presented. I can't wait to visit them again and the restaurant can be highly recommended.

This exclusive 40 seater restaurant offers a fusion of Italian & South African cuisine in a modern vernacular.

The restaurant opened in June 2016, and the venue offers a ‘casual fine dining’ restaurant and a wine tasting centre that showcases Idiom’s flagship blends, signature Italian varietal wines and rare limited release 900 Series wines. Explore the ‘Cape Idiom’ of the great wine regions of the world, while taking in architecture, views, Italian-inspired restaurant with our la carte Italian & South African inspired dishes & regional pizza menu. Guests are able to embark on a virtual journey through the main wine regions of Italy at the Vinotria Italian Wine Library – a display of 250 wines from all over Italy distributed by Bottega Family Wines in South Africa.

1. Do I need to pay upfront?

At most restaurants, you can make reservations for free and cancel them without any charge. You'll settle the bill when you dine at the restaurant. However, some restaurants may request a small deposit, and they will send a prepayment request via Dineplan to confirm your reservation.

4. Are drinks included in the menu price?

In most deals, drinks are not included.

5. How can I change my reservation?

7. Is cancellation free?

Yes, you can always cancel for free.

If you have made a prepayment via Dineplan, you can cancel up to 24 hours before your reservation. The amount you paid in advance will be automatically refunded to your account. Refunds through Dineplan should be resolved in communication with the restaurant, and we are not directly involved in this process.

8. Until when can I cancel my reservation?

You can cancel your reservation online up to 8 hours in advance, or by phone up to 1 hour before your reservation time. However, we kindly request that you cancel as soon as you know you won't be able to make your reservation.

9. What is Restaurant Week South Africa?

During Restaurant Week South Africa, you can indulge in a fabulous 3-course dinner at over 140 of the finest restaurants in South Africa, starting at ZAR 295.00 per person. Restaurant Week South Africa is held twice a year, in Autumn and Spring.
