Excellent food, wine and service. Highly recommend and will be back.
Overall the meal was good. The expectations were however high and I don't quite feel they reached them.

As one of the more expensive dining options we were expecting something special. The dining room and location weren't remarkable in any particular way. That said the bathrooms were interesting with televisions put into the floor (which didn't all work mind you). Just a curious thing to do which seems a little bit out of character with the 'hotel' in general, but perhaps I was missing something.
The dinner itself was well prepared but lacked the fine dining refinement I was expecting. The flavors where solid on all the dishes but I feel they lacked a bit of that spark that makes a dish memorable and stand out.
The Salmon Gravalax starter was a miss for me. The idea seemed good on paper but on the plate it seemed to lack in terms of how everything came together. Some flavor combinations did not quite work here. The textures were good, with the salmon being a little bit on the firm side for my liking but nicely balanced with the crunch of the cucumber. The portion size was also a little bit on the smaller side, especially compared to their vegetarian starter. The Baby Marrow & Cauliflower Textures was robust in comparison, but did feel like a portioned down main, rather than a purpose made starter.
The Parma Ham Pork Fillet was homely but elevated. And this perhaps is where my expectation weren't met. It was a good dish, but felt too safe for me. That said the flavors were good and balanced, but as mentioned nothing wowed me. Presentation was good. The Line Fish dish was, like the pork, rather homely. The sauce was great and the fish was good, the mussels stood out especially.
The desserts were above average but I feel they may have lacked a bit of creativity in execution. Crème Anglaise stood out between the two for its flavor, the maple syrup was delicious and overall was well balanced in terms of texture and sweetness.
Overall a good dinner, but not quite at the level of fine dining.

Chef Ross's passion for food shines through his well thought-out menu and each course delivered mouth-watering and complex flavors. Paired with the ambience of the intimate dining area, this is definitely a perfect place for date night. The pork fillet is a winner and the desserts are moreish! Will definitely add The Winehouse to my list of restaurants for those special occasions

Friendly service, the staff made you feel important. The chef greeted us, we had a lovely conversation with him before and after our dinner. The food is of the finest quality, the crème anglaise is the best I have had. I will definitely return for more Salmon Gravalax.
