"Weekend lunch"

Delicious food and gorgeous view. We had the mussels and brown onion soup for a start and for main the trout and lamb shoulder. All were excellent, however the trout really stood out. Fine dining without the small portions - left happy and satisfied.

What should have been a wonderful experience got off to a bad start. Although I had confirmation from dining city, Haute Cabriere did not have a booking for me. Once they sorted that out we were seated, but then were told we could have a main and dessert as part of the deal. I had especially chosen this restaurant because it had stated you could do either a starter and main or dessert and main. We wanted specifically to have a starter and not a dessert. This seemed to cause a lot of trouble as the waitress went back and forth. Eventually I showed them my email from restaurant week and then they reluctantly agreed to give us what we were expecting to get. Obviously the communication between the restaurant and dining city was not done properly. Once our issue was resolved we had excellent service. The food was delicious and the views are really superb. Unfortunately I'm not sure I will go there again given the hiccup on arrival.

We dine at Haute Cabriere at least twice a year and this time round found the portion sizes small; the food was lovely but value for money is not there any more
