I was pleasantly surprised. Had a cuisine experience at LaMotte last year at the Pierneef Restaurant and tis is on par and in some cases better. You can be proud and should look after your chef with your life.

"Kloof - one of the best restaurants in Pretoria"

We had lunch at Kloof on 24 October. What an amazing experience. We had the 3 course meal. We ordered different dishes, tasted each other's and compared it - it was difficult to rate any plate better than the next! But I must say the pork belly was a culinary delight!

The view and setting of the restaurant are absolutely divine. The food was delicious. My only suggestion would be with the main course (the pork option); include an element that brings acidity and freshness to the dish to cut through the richness of the pork. I think that is what your wanted to achieve with the apple and ginger jelly/jam, but it's just not enough. Waiting staff were really friendly and professional. I would definitely return to De Kloof.

The food was amazing. From the home made bread with pumpkin and banana puree, to the starters and Big Bad Wolf mains. The service started out great but as the meal progressed rapidly deteriorated. After serving the mains no waiter appeared to refill our wine glasses (even though three waiters were standing at the counter). We waited 15 minutes to have our empty plates removed and more or less the same time after we asked for our bill. The wait for the card machine was even longer. I will definitely go back for the food, the service however can do with much improvement.
