A great experience. Service was faultless. I love the space in this restaurant, which gives it a great ambiance and allows for a great atmosphere at the table. All four courses were very good with a good combination of flavours at all times. The only fault (and it's personal preference) is that I found the squid ink paste a bit bland.

The food was delicious, we elected to have the 4th course as an extra. The soup - who knew I was a fan of cauliflower? The starter - springbok carpaccio was a great mix of molecular gastronomy and South African food. The surf and turf was an unusual combination of prawns and pork belly. It was really great, but I thought the carrot puree tasted odd in combination with the other parts of the meal.The dessert - was deconstructed delight! Great milk tart.
The wine list was well priced and enjoyable with the food offering.
The staff were great, they were friendly, charming and attentive. The head chef chatting about his food influences was a great insight into the meal we had just eaten.
We had a wonderful time and will be back soon.
What an absolutely lovely venue . When I arrived the staff was extremely wellcoming and immediately made me feel at home The service was great , couldn't fault it at all . Loved the food , which was well presented and full of flavor . We sat on the patio overlooking the garden which was well lit . All in all myself and my colleauge had a great evening
Athol Place is the perfect spot to visit for a nice evening. The atmosphere is fantastic. I admire that it is quiet and calm, in a good way. No noise from chairs and voices. The food is great and tasty. The chef took the time to talk to all guests - very nice. We will be back!
Enjoyed the entire experience, from the security guard at the gate to the chef coming to the table!
