With such a beautiful environment, delicious food, and professional service, I would recommend this restaurant to anyone who is looking for a real fine dining experience.
Our welcome was very friendly.
The dining room setting overlooking the well maintained garden & pool was very relaxing.
The menu was well prepared & delicious.
The staff were very attentive.
We felt thoroughly spoilt by an enjoyable night out - especially for a Sunday!

The meal I had at restaurant week was really out of this world. The 4 course meal was filling, tasty and so creative. The chef actually came out and took the time to chat to us and find out if we were happy with the meal.
I have honestly not enjoyed a meal in Joburg like that for a long time.
I will definitely be back and make sure to let everyone I know, know about the service, experience and most importantly the FOOD!

The attention to detail and the dining experience was utterly wonderful.
The staff were friendly, helpful, polite and efficient.
The head chef was engaging and went beyond the ordinary polite chit-chat to really discuss some amazing gadgets and his favorite local finds.
The food was utterly sublime, from the freshly baked bread with home-made hummus to the wasabi soil on the springbok carpaccio to the deconstructed milk tar for dessert,
I would highly recommend Athol Place as a hidden gem in the city with exceptional food.
