Very pleasing lunch, very nice ambience in contemporary surroundings.
Exceptional experience, fantastic food, great wine and I will definitely return to this venue.
The only irritation was the coming and going of kids through the front glass doors, which negated the effect of the fireplaces on a beautiful but cold and windy day.

We started with the scallops that were perfectly prepared and served with an apple puree and paired with Idiome Viognier. For mains, we both had the duck breast served with a delightful chocolate jus, delicious beetroot puree topped with the fluffiest potato balls and a crispy phyllo tuile stuffed with creamy goats cheese.

There was another third element on the plate that was lovely. I think it could have been a blueberry froth and jelly? This was served a glass of bubbly to celebrate the lovely meal we had.
Well done Idiome! We ended our restaurant week on an absolute high. You will definetely see us again.

The young man that brought us amuse bouche, plonked it down and said "your amuse bouche, I have no idea what it is". All dishes were beautifully presented but taste wise it was a let down. Kudu carpaccio was very good but Scallops were tasteless. We waited a long time for our mains which were below par - duck breast very tough and overdone, cob roulade was tasteless and fish in middle still raw and cold. Desserts were average. Very disappointing end to our weekend of gastronomy for Restaurant Week
