Fantastic food in a beautiful setting. We had a few people on the Restaurant Week menu and some oho ordered off the full menu, and everyone enjoyed their meals. The roasted duck breast, artichoke risotto, steamed cob roulade and the pork belly were particular favourites. The staff were friendly and accommodating, especially with two young children at the table. Definitely a must visit!

Well received, free bottle of Prosecco on arrival. Chef made special dishes for me as a vegetarian that were not 0n Restaurant Week special menu. Great lunch experience, and as always wonderful views.

We had a fantastic lunch despite the little hick up. The food was divine, their wines great and the views breathtaking.
We will certainly be back for another treat.

What an absolute experience. With breathtaking views and amazing food, a windy day could not even ruin our lunch at Idiom. We had the scallops as a starter-scallops cooked to perfection with great flavor combinations on the plate. Clean and fresh. For main we had the kudu loin. Portions were well sized and meat was very tender and well prepared. Dessert was a highlight with our table trying both options. The nectarine dessert was an absolute pleasure and stole the show. This was also our first time drinking their wine and it was not a dissapointment! They will definitely see us again.

This exclusive 40 seater restaurant offers a fusion of Italian & South African cuisine in a modern vernacular.

The restaurant opened in June 2016, and the venue offers a ‘casual fine dining’ restaurant and a wine tasting centre that showcases Idiom’s flagship blends, signature Italian varietal wines and rare limited release 900 Series wines. Explore the ‘Cape Idiom’ of the great wine regions of the world, while taking in architecture, views, Italian-inspired restaurant with our la carte Italian & South African inspired dishes & regional pizza menu. Guests are able to embark on a virtual journey through the main wine regions of Italy at the Vinotria Italian Wine Library – a display of 250 wines from all over Italy distributed by Bottega Family Wines in South Africa.

1. Do I need to pay upfront?

At most restaurants, you can make reservations for free and cancel them without any charge. You'll settle the bill when you dine at the restaurant. However, some restaurants may request a small deposit, and they will send a prepayment request via Dineplan to confirm your reservation.

2. How do I know if my reservation is confirmed?

You will receive a confirmation for every reservation within a few minutes at the email address you provided. Haven't received anything? Please check your spam folder.

3. I follow a special diet. Can the restaurant accommodate that?

You can specify your dietary requirements in the comments section of the reservation form.

4. Are drinks included in the menu price?

In most deals, drinks are not included.

However, some restaurants may offer a welcome drink or provide a wine-pairing option, and this will be clearly indicated in the restaurant's menu.

5. How can I change my reservation?

Yes, you can always cancel for free.

If you have made a prepayment via Dineplan, you can cancel up to 24 hours before your reservation. The amount you paid in advance will be automatically refunded to your account. Refunds through Dineplan should be resolved in communication with the restaurant, and we are not directly involved in this process.

8. Until when can I cancel my reservation?

You can cancel your reservation online up to 8 hours in advance, or by phone up to 1 hour before your reservation time. However, we kindly request that you cancel as soon as you know you won't be able to make your reservation.

9. What is Restaurant Week South Africa?

During Restaurant Week South Africa, you can indulge in a fabulous 3-course dinner at over 140 of the finest restaurants in South Africa, starting at ZAR 295.00 per person. Restaurant Week South Africa is held twice a year, in Autumn and Spring.
