The only negative comments were that some of the dishes had elements that were possibly too vinegary to properly compliment the main element. Overall the outstanding dishes were the Spanish chickpea broth, the French onion soup, Slow cooked beef tongue, Chicken with Newlands wild mushrooms, Hake rarebit, the Goat's cheese cake with guava and the Pina Colada inspired dessert. 2 of the diners said they could happily live on the goat's cheese dessert.
Service was outstanding, friendly and at times funny. The setting overlooking the gardens at the Vineyard Hotel and the walk through the garden before dinner was lovely.
Überwältigendes lunch Menü für Augen und Gaumen mit unvorstellbar ausgewogener Aromenvielfalt!
Ansprechendes Ambiente, fantastischer Ausblick.

What a great start of the Restaurant Week Spring Edition! We kicked off at Idiom Restaurant in the Winelands. We started with a welcome drink at the terrace to embrace the breath-taking views. After that we had an amazing lunch! For every course you had 2 choices and since we were with 6 we could share everything so we could taste the whole menu. The desserts were really amazing, especially the Roasted Strawberries with burnt meringue, coconut lime sorbet and spiced cherry gel! Wow! Compliments to the Chef and his team! We can't wait to book for another great Restaurant Week experience!
