We were asked to order our meal ASAP as they where very busy (the hordes of people never actually materialized and several table were empty when we left) The food generally were good. I had the octopus vs Calamari dish and it did taste like the octopus must have been very old and and was very rubbery.
The problem with being a top restaurant is that people do expect more, and I think you failed to achieve your very high standard. ( maybe still in shock after the disaster of bubbly and oyster festival?)
Our 1st visit to De Kloof in the beautiful Waterkloof Golf Estate. We arrived just as the sun was setting and were seated on the terrace. Fantastic cuisine and superb service thank you Columbus we thoroughly enjoyed our evening.
We sat at the terrace outside and it was very nice and cosy. Service was good and the food was great. A nice couple's date night place.

Just walking past the kitchen we could already smell the incredible flavor combinations. Because we were a table of 7 we got to taste a bit of everything. It’s also worth mentioning that despite being a big table, the service was still excellent. Our waitress was very attentive and there was no delay with drinks/ food.
The goats cheese and cauliflower fondant was very tasty -loved it. The liver starter was also perfect and had a lot of flavour. The wild boar was a smidge under seasoned but combined with the ravioli and sauce it was a perfect match.
The squid’s sauce -yum. Kudu was flawlessly cooked. The pork belly was succulent, soft with a crispy top, and worked very well with the beetroot. Beautifully presented. We also loved the coconut cheesecake.
We ordered a couple of bottles bottles of wine off the pairing list and they went very well with the meal. Overall, a great night and we will definitely br going back for more.
Great place even nicer food!
