i loved everything about this place, including the menu. i would definitely go back.
The food was delicious and the service and presentation was stunning! When a waiter had forgotten to bring my husband's drink it was given to us on the house with an apology. My pork belly was delicious and my husband loved his beef dish which he said was cooked to a perfect "medium". The chocolate dessert was very yummy as well!!
Awesome afternoon with excellent company and good cuisine. Drinks a bit pricey. Desserts was out of this world. Looking forward to my next visit though.

A very pleasant dining experience.
We were received in a warm and friendly manner, and seated at a table overlooking the Mandela Square.
The restaurant was adequately air conditioned and a respite from the blistering heat wave.
Once seated, we ordered drinks which were promptly served by our friendly and attentive waiter (Simon).
The main meals consisted of pork belly and beef. The presentation was professional and appealing to the eye.
Both meals were prepared to perfection.
The desserts were equally pleasant on the eye, and a delight to the palette.
Food was terrific, service was attentive without being intrusive. Great location. An all round wonderful experience.

About Piccolo Mondo
Cuisine: Fine Dining, Italian
Flair, adventure and culinary delight are at the heart of the menu at the Piccolo Mondo Restaurant. Designed not to just feed the appetite and appease the taste buds, several of the dishes bring with them a visual signature never seen before.
“The clientele of the Piccolo Mondo, and in fact the Michelangelo hotel in general, is so diverse that we have to create a very delicate balance between food that is fashionable, contemporary yet modern, food that has a wow factor, must be mainly food that is tasty and appeases all our clienteles’ discerning palates,” says, executive chef Trevor Boyd at the Michelangelo Hotel.
The menu captures nuances of all the components a menu needs to set us apart from other restaurants out there. “We believe that our new menu will cater for not only the business weary traveller and the erstwhile tourist, but also the many visitors we see popping in for a meal on their visit to the Nelson Mandela Square.”
