I suggested a Saturday evening supper at OneNineOne to my wife. She was a little hesitant as she wanted to stay in and was going to cook something. She was not in the least disappointed. She couldn't stop talking about the tantalizing experience we had. I am almost certain she has told almost every one we know about your great restaurant. Who needs advertising when you have word of (my wife's) mouth. :)
Thank you kindly for the great evening.

We revisited your establishment for the fourth time now. And again, not a single moment of disappointment. Every time we visit there, it seems like it's better than the last time, which we thought, is not possible.

What a heavenly experience we had. We met some friends that we haven't seen in a long time. Great choice of location. Another plus was the fact that it was Restaurant week. Everything was top-notch. We will be back for more very soon.

The food was boring. Fish consume, vegetarian option and lamb pie are not exciting main choices for “Restaurant Week” and guests who are passionate cooks. We are keen travellers and found we could cook better food at home when compared to what was served. Ended up ordering from the Lobby Menu. The lamb rump was cooked well, however, with no sauce. The baby potatoes were ok. We opted for spinach with onion over butternut. The spinach was watery with no seasoning and onions. The regular “Zulu” bread was not offered on arrival, just regular rolls. We did ask for them as our daughter was looking forward to it. Spoke to Sipho the restaurant manager about our dissapointment, but he seemed nonchalant. The kitchen staff need to tone down when cooking in the open plan kitchen, there voices overpowered the restaurant music. So dissapointing as we enjoyed a previous lunch here where we spoke to the Chef about exciting menu ideas. The desert menu here is not good. A offered “millionaires shortcake” made with dark chocolate, cherries and short biscuit was presented as cut tasteless chocolate pudding jelly cube moulds with a very thin biscuit base and flavourless cherry confit. As a Chef I would dream eat and sleep food; use seasonal ingredients and if in a good hotel with international guests offer 2 options with a South African flair. The menu options are boring and can be eaten in any average restaurant at more reasonable prices.
