We went to the "Jardin" as part of the restaurant week and were VERY pleasantly surprised. It started with being greeted by name on the menu, continued with the original choice of the small menu and did not end with the nice and unobtrusive service. The food was simply excellent - great praise to the kitchen. This was certainly not our last visit!
First time back since end 2019. Jardine has undergone a makeover, to the better. Ambience is up to date and hip so will fit in with the trendy university crowd. Was happy to note that the fireplace is still in the main dining area.

Starters of pork belly and salad of roasted heirloom tomatoes was a great way to start the meal. Hake for mains was excellent though the olive tapenade was not needed. Chalmar sirloin for mains was excellent as usual (it's a staple at Jardine). Dessert was the crowning glory. Chocolate hot pot was good but that homemade vanilla ice cream was a delight.
The staff were friendly and service was excellent. Even got to compare music tastes with the hostess!
Very flexible service
It was something different...fresh! The food was good and presented well
Not the best ambience I have experienced and the service was not bad but was without 'warmth'
Although I did not hear anything from the restaurant prior to the date of our booking as with previous restaurants, they sent a sms on the day, expecting us. With previous appointments I felt special....not his time.
Thank you for a great experience, meal was superb.
